BOSTON-Since there was no winner in Wednesday night’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot has increased to $1.23 billion. In Massachusetts, however, there were a few fewer victors.
The most recent Powerball drawing’s winning numbers were Powerball 15, Powerball 38, 41, 62, and 65.
Winners of the $1 million Powerball in Medway and Medford
The state lottery reported that two tickets sold in Massachusetts had won $1 million each. They were purchased at Wegman’s supermarket in Medford as well as the Cumberland Farms convenience shop in Medway.
All the numbers on those tickets matched, but the Powerball was off.
$150,000 was won via a ticket that was purchased at Harmony Two Liquors in Halifax.
On Saturday night, there will be a Powerball drawing. It is valued at $595.1 million in cash.
As of right now, the $1.23 million jackpot ranks seventh in the history of the US lottery. Powerball tickets are available for purchase in Massachusetts and forty-four additional states for $2 each.
First Massachusetts winner of the “Jaws” lottery
There was a million-dollar winner in another major game in Massachusetts.
The first $1 million prize in the brand-new “Jaws” instant scratch ticket game was won by Solange Villard of Dorchester. The tickets are only available for purchase as of Tuesday, March 26.
The Millennium Store Inc. on Blue Hill Ave. in Dorchester is where Villard purchased her winning “Jaws” ticket. Selling the ticket will earn the shop a bonus of $10,000.
Villard opted for a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. She informed the Massachusetts Lottery that she intended to utilize the winnings to buy a home and provide for her grandchildren and children.
When it comes to the “Jaws” game, Villard is fairly skilled. She won $50 and $100 from two further scratch tickets that she purchased.
Five $1 million grand prizes are still up for grabs in the “Jaws” lottery.
