US authorities have discovered the body of Boeing whistleblower John Barnett, who revealed safety issues within the massive aircraft company.
The Boeing leaker, John Barnett, has exposed numerous methods that call into doubt the planes’ safety. In the South Carolina motel parking lot, he was discovered dead inside his truck.
American whistleblower John Barnett was discovered dead in his pickup in a hotel parking lot. He worked at Boeing. Barnett, who was well-known for raising issues with the industry’s production standards, was in Charleston at the time of his disappearance working on a lawsuit against the biggest aerospace corporation in the world.
Why did John Barnett pass away?
On March 9, the 62-year-old Barnett was discovered dead in his pickup inside the Charleston motel where he was staying. A “self-inflicted” wound was the reason of his death, according to sources.
Barnett, a veteran of more than thirty years with Boeing, was testifying in support of a whistleblower case against the company. When he retired from Boeing in 2017 due to health issues, he started a protracted legal battle against the company.
All the allegations John Barnett made against the massive aviation system company are listed below:
Concern was voiced by Barnett about the use of parts in the 787-airplane production frame that did not pass statistical testing. He said the reason they were forced to install such inferior parts once production began in South Carolina was because of the hardship the workers were under.
The production process, in his opinion, was hurried and hazardous, and he complained about it.
Some of the findings of a review conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2017 were validated by Barnet. At least 53 components have been discovered by FAA to have an uncertain location.
It is possible that the pilots’ inability to achieve normoxia was exacerbated by Barnett’s discovery that 25% of the emergency oxygen systems on the 787s had failed. It was astonishing to me that Boeing, which was granted a platform, admitted that “some oxygen bottles have been delivered from the supplier that has not performed the function properly” while simultaneously guaranteeing that none of them had ever been mounted on an airplane.
Barnett filed a slander case against Boeing. He said that because of his whistleblower, the organization had ruined his reputation and career. Boeing is determined to decline to accept.
Barnett was involved in a legal dispute with Boeing at the time of his passing, including the counsel of both parties. He gave a deposition in which he was questioned by the legal counsel for Boeing and put through his own cross-examination. Prior to his scheduled interrogation on Saturday, the hotel administration discovered his deceased body in the parking lot.
“We are saddened by Mr. Barnett’s passing, and our thoughts are with his family and friends,” Boeing said in a statement expressing their sadness.
The Charleston City Police Department is in charge of the ongoing investigation into Barnett’s death. The investigation is being conducted by the Charleston City Police Department. According to the office of Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal, no other information is available at this time, as Al Jazeera was quoted.
