The song “Everything I Thought It Was” by Justin Timberlake features both of these recordings.
The age of Justin Timberlake’s Everything I Thought It Was is already underway. To commemorate the debut of his recently released sixth studio album, the singer opened the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, April 1, at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.
JT began by sitting on a metal barrel with a member of his band. He then gave a touching performance of his EITIW lead song, “Selfish,” playing the acoustic guitar and singing the track’s emotional lyrics in a pared-down version.
Then it was time to really turn it up, with the entire band going into overdrive and Justin Timberlake taking the stage to belt out the seductive “No Angels” in front of a backdrop of a barren, western landscape completed with cacti, a setting sun, and props for a saloon.
Justin Timberlake made his biggest debut on the list in six years with “Selfish,” which came in at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The much-anticipated reunion of *NSYNC is included on EITIW as well. The entire band performed the song live at Timberlake’s one-night-only performance at The Wiltern in Los Angeles last month. It’s called “Paradise.”
The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards honor the artists and songs that are most often played on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout the year. Actors and singers Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Tate McRae, and Ludacris, who is hosting the event, are all scheduled to perform. At the presentation, Beyoncé will be presented with the Innovator Award, and Cher will be given the Icon Award. The iHeartRadio Landmark Awards will also be given to TLC and Green Day.
